Into the wild

Hello dear readers, we are writing from Zwierzyniec. After a long trips from Lithuania, Portugal, Czech we ended up in this beautiful city. After having some deserved sleep we had and interesting day just getting to know each other and in the evening we had and marvelous gathering in the beach near the magnificent lake which they called "Stawy Echo".

On our third day we went to museum and got introduced to Zwierzyniec flora and fauna. And so we go to our fourth day. On this day we went to national park of Zwieryniec and tried to explore the nature and enjoy the fresh air.

After deepening our knowledge of wild nature we started workshops. It took long tiring ours and because we needed some activity and rest we went to try out zipline.

On our sixth day after some preparations for the happening in Zamosc, we went for an exiting bike trip.
Even thought at the begging it was raining, but it didn't scare us at all and during the trip even a drop of rain didn't fall. We passed by some wild horses and even got a chance to pet them. At  the end of the trip we visited the old country side buildings.

And the time flies so fast. So we are now on our last day here. And the firs thing in the morning we did was going canoeing. It wasn't a hard trip as some people said but those who went for the first time said it was just  perfect. So thats all dear readers today on we will have a farewell party and go home.It feels bit nostalgic.

Give a paw until the end

So we got ready, steady and went to Zamość to make the final event happen. The days before we were preparing and we couldn`t wait to make it happen. We would like to say it was a sunny and beautiful day but actually we were afraid of the rain till the very end of our preparations and the very beginning of the happening.
This all had a meaning. We were trying to earn as much as possible for jerzyk which is a dying out species in Poland. This cute little "birthie" lost his home because of reconstructions and modernization of old buildings in Poland. So money we collected are for new home boxes. The
Zamość Voluntary Services Association was very helpful and the people were kind and all together good hosts even showed us around the city. We set up our market in the middle of Zamość square, Tomas put his box on, slogans are open and girls got ready for free hugs and kisses :)
Two days before we were making eco bags and filcuchy and we were pretty curious if someone will buy fruit of our work. And so we were surprised when people started buying it and interacting with us. They really cared about what are we doing there, what is jerzyk and how are we gonna help.
Some people were not interested about it but we didn` t cared about them too.
Even miracles were happening especially when one rich Polish man bought a picture for 100 zł. We all did our best to spread the information and good mood everywhere. And we were very happy that we earned almost 700 zł.
To sum up it was fun for us and useful for jerzyk. And we all volunteers can end this project with good feelings and nice memories.

What actually happened on the exchange? :)

One half of the Czech team decided to change the gender to follow the gender balance... So to Poland 4 girls finally arrived!

GIVE A PAW! TO CREATE ART

Hello!
Here is Justina, Bazile, Barbara, Tomas,  Eva, Anna and Karolinka. We got a real buzz out of all activities related to art and culture and we would like to share it with all of you.

We had a chance to have a first-hand experience with different cultures during cultural evenings. We tried national food and drinks, took part in funny games and learnt new words and phrases in different languages.

Lithuania- a country where basketball is a "religion".

Delicious food and drinks straight from Czech Republic

During Give a paw! Go wild we also had an opportunity to develop our craft skills and try out new techniques: improve photo-taking, sew "filcuchy" and design and make our own ecobags. The outcomes of the workshops exceeded our expectations so much that some of us spent free time sewing filcuchy just for enjoyment.

Our work was appreciated during the final event - the eco-bags and filcuchy attracted a lot of public attention and the best pictures were put up and sold at auction. Real masterpieces!

We were lucky that during our stay in Zwierzyniec there was an international LAND ART festival which took place in a nearby park. We could enjoy original pieces of outdoor art and listen to alternative music. It was a perfect combination of art and nature which altogether created magical atmosphere!

Give a paw! Go wild was a culturally enriching experience for all of us!!!

Greetings from Lithuanian-Portugese-Czech-Polish team!
